In celebration of Earth Day, we want to share how KABAK has evolved into a socially responsible brand over the past year, dedicated to sustainable fashion.
Since the very beginning, we have ensured that KABAK develops in a sustainable and responsible manner. Right from the start, we laid down the unshakable foundations of the company's operation, centered around 100% Polish production and a dedication to minimizing waste while creating products that are not just aesthetically pleasing but ethically sound. These principles continue to be at the heart of our brand, and as KABAK grows, we also endeavor to expand the scope of our sustainability strategy. Let's take a look at the small yet significant changes we've achieved between 2020 and 2022, despite challenging circumstances.
1. After introducing the first collection of organic cotton socks, we went all out and achieved one of our vital objectives: transitioning KABAK's production to use organic cotton as the primary raw material. In early 2022, we proudly debuted the first hats and scarves made from this material, and by the year's end, all KABAK cotton products will be available in organic options.
2. Alongside organic cotton, we have also introduced recycled yarns. Check out our collection of caps created from upcycled old jeans, and stay tuned for more new sustainable products this year!
3. We have eliminated plastic from our mailings, replacing adhesive tapes and stickers with eco-friendly paper versions. Additionally, we are in the process of swapping plastic binders that attach product labels with biodegradable threads and bones.
4. We have successfully eliminated sock production rejects. Any cut threads, which are collected even several tons a year, are repurposed as fillings for various cushions and pouffes, ensuring we generate minimal production waste.
5. Since the beginning of 2020 so far, we have implemented three fantastic charity collaborations: with our befriended Jelonki Centre, with the Rak'n'Roll Foundation and with Theatre 21. As part of these, three beautiful collections were created to support the aforementioned organisations. You can still find the KABAK x Rak'n'Roll and KABAK x Theatre 21 collections on our website, and if you decide to buy one of these models, the profit from their sale will go straight to Rak'n'Roll or Theatre 21 :)
We continually seek ways to improve and better care for our environment. While some changes may be postponed due to the pandemic, and others are awaiting the right scale, we remain confident that we are moving in the right direction. We are steadfastly and consistently following a clearly defined direction. We extend our sincere appreciation for being part of this journey with us!
